The core of Poliloop and our original purpose, disposing of plastic waste is our top priority. By eliminating the leakage and landfilling of additional plastics, we can lessen the impact of plastics on our environment.
The biomass that is produced by the Poliloop process could help reclaim what was once infertile and unfarmable land. It is possible that one day we will grow the food of tomorrow with the packaging of yesterday.
Preliminary testing is in progress to assess the bacteria's ability to consume fossil fuels such as diesel. We are currently testing the feasibility of using this technology both on land and at sea. Our bacteria could one day play a key role in mitigating the environmental impact of oil spills and fuel leakage.
As consumers increasingly choose to shop online, the use of plastic packaging grows as well. Plastic packaging such as bubble wrap and styrofoam cannot be efficiently recycled. Poliloop is looking to partner with major eCommerce platforms and retailers to reduce the carbon footprint of such packaging.
