Each year, over 300 million tons of plastic waste are produced. Over 70% of plastic is landfilled or leaked into the environment. In order to address this environmental crisis, we must limit the amout of plastics entering our oceans and landfills. Poliloop provides an alternative to landfilling, incineration, and environmental pollution through our sustainable end of life solution.
In order to preserve our environment and standard of living, we must reduce the impact of single-use plastic packaging. Poliloop looks to work in conjunction with traditional recycling methods to address the overwhelming majority of plastic that is not efficiently recycled. We believe that it is through partnerships and innovation that we can build a better tomorrow.
Microplastics are one of the leading threats to marine ecosystems globally. UV rays break plastic waste into small particles which can be especially toxic to not only wildlife, but can also contaminate our drinking water. What makes microplastics so dangerous is not just their toxicity, but the difficulty in removing such small fragments. This is why we must eliminate microplastics at the source.
Founded in 2018 to solve the issue of plastic waste pollution.
Inspired by the decomposition of a fallen leaf, Liz and Krisztina set out to discover a method of degrading petroleum products.
In December 2020, Poliloop closed its seed round with Budapest based Vespucci Partners.
